Ardmore Country House Kinnitty Bed & Breakfast
Failte Ireland and bandbireland registered accommodation .
"My home is your home."
Ardmore Country House is in the heart of the Irish countryside midway between Dublin and the West of Ireland. I have been living in this beautiful old house for the last 20 years and still get great pleasure from the beauty of the Slieve Bloom Mountains though the large picture windows of Ardmore House each morning.
I love to share this wonderful place with the many guests who have stayed with me since I opened my home as a bed and breakfast 19 years ago. Indeed many of you have come to love it as much as I and returned to Ardmore House Kinnitty again and again. You are always very welcome. It is always a pleasure to see you.
I know that you are really looking forward to a relaxing break from everyday life and I will do my outmost to ensure you will get it here. I offer good food, peace and quiet, rest and relaxation and to that end the following facilities are available to all guests:
- Open turf fire
- Complimentary Tea/Coffee and home baking on arrival.
- Choice of Breakfast Menu using fresh local produce.
- Electric Blankets on all beds during winter months
- Free Wireless Broadband
- Extensive Library
- Large landscaped gardens..
- Use of BBQ
- Free off road parking

Bicycle hire and Horse riding in the Slieve Bloom Mountains can be pre arranged for you.

There are lots of activities to chose from locally - a variety of walking trails, in the gentle rolling hills of the Slieve Blooms (3/4 day walking breaks available) great festivals, horse-trekking, golfing (within easy reach of many fine golf courses) falconry.
Visit famous gardens such as Birr Castle Gardens, Emo Court House and Gardens and just 6 miles from Kinnitty is Ireland's most haunted Castle Leap Castle, Lough Boora Parklands, the Shannon Callows.
On Wednesday and Friday evenings you can join the locals at a traditional Irish music night in one of the local pubs. I play the fiddle and often take my gueststo the session on those nights. Here you will meet the real Irish, experience the culture, folklore and music performed for our own enjoyment, and not as some'stage show' aimed at tourists.
Ardmore Country House was built circa 1840 by the Bernards {once the owners of Kinnitty Castle. Ardmore Country House. I have restored the house retaining many of the original features including shutters, pine sash windows and doors. The guest bedrooms are spacious and furnished throughout with original antiques and the modern comforts of luxurious king size beds, orthopaedic mattresses and electric blankets.
