Though quite low as mountains go,
the Slieve Bloom Mountains dominate the centre of Ireland.
Ireland is unique in that all of her high mountains are near the
coast, and the centre of the country is basically one large flat
plain. But rising out of these flat plains are the gentle Slieve
Bloom Mountains, offering fantastic panoramic views over much of
Ireland on a clear day.
One of the best views is from the Ridge of Cappard where you can
see much of the north and south midlands, as well as the Dublin
and Wicklow Mountains. |
